How to Use Hreflang Tags Generator
- Pick a preset or add rows. Start from a preset, or add a row for each language version of the page.
- Enter the codes and URL. Add the language code, an optional region, and the full URL for each version.

What is hreflang?
It is a tag that tells search engines which language and region a page is for, so the right version is shown to the right users.
What format do the codes use?
A two letter language code such as en, with an optional two letter region such as US, giving values like en-US.
What is x-default?
It is the fallback version for users whose language or region you do not specifically target. It is recommended on multilingual sites.
Do return tags matter?
Yes. Every language version must list all the others, including itself. Hreflang is ignored if the references are not returned.
Where do I put the tags?
In the head of each page. Hreflang can also be set in an XML sitemap or HTTP headers, but the head is the most common place.
