How to Use Twitter Card Generator
- Choose a card type. Large image suits articles and products, summary suits compact links, and player and app cards cover media and apps.
- Add your handles. Enter the @site and @creator handles. The tool flags any that are missing the leading @.
- Write the title and image. Watch the length meters, then add a card image. Large image cards use 1200 by 628, summary cards use a square.
- Check the live card. The preview redraws as you type and the score lists anything still missing.
- Copy the tags into your head. Paste the generated Twitter Card block into the head of your page and publish.

What is the difference between summary and large image?
Summary shows a small square thumbnail beside the text. Large image shows a wide banner above the text, which stands out more in the feed.
What image size should I use?
Large image cards work best at 1200 by 628 pixels. Summary cards use a square image of at least 144 by 144 pixels.
Do the handles need an @?
Yes. twitter:site and twitter:creator should be handles that start with @, such as @brand. The tool warns you if the @ is missing.
Does this still work on X?
Yes. X continues to read Twitter Card tags, and falls back to your Open Graph tags when a Twitter tag is absent.
