How to Use Convert HEIC to JPG - Change iPhone Photos
- Set the quality. Leave the slider at 92% for a good balance, or lower it for smaller files before you add photos.
- Add your HEIC files. Drag one or several onto the box, or click it to browse. Both .heic and .heif from iPhones and iPads are supported.
- Each file converts in your browser. The tool decodes the photo and re-encodes it as JPG. The first try uses your browser's built-in decoder; if that is not available it loads a HEIC decoder automatically.

What is the HEIC format?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones since iOS 11. It
compresses better than JPG but is not supported everywhere, especially on Windows and the web.
Why can’t I open HEIC files on Windows?
Windows does not natively open HEIC photos from iPhones. Converting them to JPG, which every device
and app supports, fixes that so you can view and share them anywhere.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes. Select or drop multiple HEIC files and each one is converted separately, with its own preview

Can I control the output quality?
Yes. Use the quality slider before converting. It ranges from 10% (smallest file) to 100% (best
fidelity). 92% is a good balance for most photos.
Does it keep EXIF data like date and location?
No. Browser canvas conversion drops most EXIF metadata, including GPS location and capture date.
If you need that data, keep a copy of the original HEIC file.
Which browsers work best?
Recent Chrome, Edge, and Firefox all work. Some browsers decode HEIC natively; when they cannot,
the tool loads a small decoder automatically to do the job.
Why does a large photo take a few seconds?
HEIC decoding is heavy and runs entirely on your device. A big 12-megapixel iPhone photo may take
a moment, which is normal since nothing is offloaded to a server.
Does it work on iPhone, iPad, and Mac?
Yes. It runs in the browser on iOS, iPadOS, and Mac, as well as Windows, Android, and Linux. No app
is needed.
Can I get a PNG instead of a JPG?
This tool outputs JPG, which is best for photos. If you need a lossless PNG with transparency, use a
