How to Use Resize Image
- Add your image. Drag a file onto the box or click to pick one. JPG, PNG, WebP, and GIF all work, and the current width and height fill in automatically.
- Set the new size. Type the width or height you need. With Lock aspect ratio on, the other value follows so the picture keeps its shape and never looks stretched.
- The resize runs on a canvas. The image is redrawn at the new size with high-quality smoothing using the HTML5 Canvas, right in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
- Download the result. The tool keeps your original format and shows the new dimensions and file size. Click Download to save the resized copy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does resizing upload my photo?
No. The image is processed on a canvas inside your browser, so it never goes to a server and nothing is stored. The tool also works offline once the page has loaded.
Will it keep my file format?
Yes. A JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG, and a WebP stays a WebP. GIF and less common formats are saved as PNG so the result stays lossless.
How do I avoid a stretched image?
Leave Lock aspect ratio checked. When you change the width, the height updates to match, so the proportions stay correct.
Can I make an image larger?
You can, but enlarging past the original size can look soft because there is no extra detail to invent. For the sharpest result, resize down rather than up.
What does the quality slider do?
For JPG and WebP it sets how much the file is compressed. Lower quality means a smaller file, higher quality means a larger, cleaner image. It has no effect on PNG, which is lossless.
Does resizing remove EXIF data?
Yes. Because the image is re-encoded from the canvas, camera details like GPS location and device info are dropped, which is a small privacy bonus.
