Frequently Asked Questions

How is the amount calculated?

It starts from about 33 ml of water per kilogram of body weight, adds roughly 350 ml for every 30 minutes of exercise, then applies a climate factor for warm or hot conditions.

Does food count toward this?

The figure is for fluids you drink. Food, especially fruit and vegetables, also provides water, so your drinking target can be a little lower in practice.

Do coffee and tea count?

Mostly yes. Despite the myth, moderate caffeinated drinks still contribute to your daily fluids, though water is the best default.

Is more always better?

No. Drinking far beyond your needs offers no benefit and, in extreme cases, can be harmful. Use thirst and urine color as everyday guides.

Is my data private?

Yes. The calculation runs entirely in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Should I follow this if I have a health condition?

Treat it as general guidance. If you have a heart, kidney or other condition that affects fluids, follow your doctor’s advice instead.
