How to Use Letter Frequency Analyzer
- Paste your text. A sentence, a paragraph, or a whole document.
- Analyze it. The tool counts each letter and works out its share of the total.
- Read the table. Letters are listed from most to least common, each with its count and percentage.
- Copy the result. Click Copy result. It all runs in your browser.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which characters are counted?
Only the letters A to Z. Numbers, spaces, and punctuation are ignored so the percentages reflect the letters alone.
Does capitalisation matter?
No. Upper and lower case are counted together, so “A” and “a” add to the same total.
How is the percentage worked out?
Each letter count is divided by the total number of letters, so all the percentages add up to about 100.
What is letter frequency useful for?
Solving simple ciphers, studying a language, checking text for balance, or just satisfying curiosity about which letters dominate.
