Frequently Asked Questions
How is GPA calculated?
Each grade is worth a number of points, such as 4.0 for an A or 3.0 for a B. Multiply each grade by its credit hours, add those up, then divide by the total credit hours. The result is your weighted GPA.
What scale does this use?
It uses the common United States 4.0 scale, where A is 4.0, A minus is 3.7, B plus is 3.3 and so on down to F at 0.0. An A plus is treated as 4.0.
What are credit hours?
Credit hours show how much a course counts toward your GPA. A course worth more credits has a bigger effect on the average, which is why the GPA is weighted.
What are quality points?
Quality points are the grade value multiplied by the credit hours for each course. The GPA is the total quality points divided by the total credit hours.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The grades you enter never leave your computer and the tool works offline once loaded.
Does it support plus and minus grades?
Yes. The grade list includes plus and minus grades such as B plus and C minus, each with its own point value on the 4.0 scale.
