Use the x^y key or the caret symbol for powers, the x squared key for squares, and the square or cube root keys. For example, 2^10 is 1024 and the root of 16 is 4.

Standard math rules. Powers are applied before multiplication and division, which come before addition and subtraction, and parentheses override the order.

Yes. Writing 2pi or 2(3+1) is treated as multiplication, so you get about 6.283 and 8. You can still use the multiply key if you prefer.

If an expression cannot be evaluated, such as the square root of a negative number or an unmatched bracket, it shows a short message instead of a wrong answer.
